Andrea Harrington knows that innovation and long-term planning are paramount in our industry.
Leading Weakley County Municipal Electric System (WCMES) as General Manager, Andrea has seen how continuously implementing innovative technology is essential to the sustained success of her organization and community. She shared how Seven States has helped with their projects’ deployment.
“WCMES needed electric vehicle charging options within our service territory to accommodate the growing electric vehicle traffic in the Martin area. We partnered with TVA and TDEC to bring fast charging to our service territory and then partnered with Seven States to execute the project. There are many facets to a Fast Charge project, and Seven States was able to design and assist in the site build-out, as well as program and test the chargers. Seven States was with us every step of the way, and they continue to help support us today anytime we need them.”
Above all, Andrea wants her customers to know that the WCMES’s mission is to serve the community and prioritize their needs.
“We want to always be a frontrunner in addressing the needs of our communities. WCMES’s long-term motto has been ‘Power for Progress.’ We strive to hold true to that motto by bringing solutions to our communities, especially when new needs arise in the power sector and our community.”
For new managers, Andrea knows that innovation can often be intimidating. She offered this piece of advice to leaders who are considering bringing technological change to their service territory:
“Stay focused on achieving your innovation goals, and always be willing to reach out for assistance and guidance in the process. If innovation is your goal, Seven States would be the first team I would reach out to — they are the go-to for organizing and bringing all your ideas to life .”
