CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee – January 2, 2024 – Today, Seven States Power Corporation has welcomed James Trott, an information technology specialist with over a decade of IT experience, to its growing team of Valley-based technology experts. Trott will serve as Technology Project Manager, a new role announced late last year to provide additional technical and project management support for the cooperative organization’s expanding portfolio of products and services.
Trott joins Seven States from Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (“DREMC”), an electric cooperative based in Shelbyville, TN, where he most recently served as IT Telecommunications Administrator.
Since 2021, Seven States has tripled in staff size, becoming a trusted energy and technology solutions provider for its 153 member-owner local power companies (“LPCs”) in the Tennessee Valley.
“As our impact across the Tennessee Valley continues to increase, led by strong demand from our member-owners, Seven States is growing our capacity to serve LPCs as we build the grid of the future,” said Betsey Kirk McCall, President and CEO of Seven States Power Corporation. “James will join our growing team of experts who are widely regarded as the go-to partner for LPCs interested in delivering innovative technology to their communities.”
Trott’s experience in IT includes service to Bedford County Government and later DREMC where he has been responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, including maintenance and upgrades for PC, network, and mobile device environments; additional roles included cybersecurity operations where he conducted compliance assessments and applied remediation efforts. In January 2022, Trott was promoted to IT Telecommunications Administrator at DREMC where his responsibilities grew to include the management of the Cooperative’s telephony and land mobile radio systems.
Trott earned a certificate in Computer Information Technology from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Shelbyville and is pursuing a Bachelor of Professional Studies in IT Management from Lipscomb University.
“I consider myself fortunate for the opportunity to contribute my skills and experience to help deploy technology projects in electrification and connectivity as a member of the Seven States team,” said James Trott, Technology Project Manager. “This growing organization continues to have a significant impact across the Valley, and I look forward to delivering on Seven States’ mission of service with my new team members.”
